About this site
What this is and what it isn’t.
For anyone deciding whether to put this in front of someone else.
The wheel and the questions
- The seven core feelings come from the basic-emotion tradition in psychology. That tradition is not ours. The branching, the words, and the definitions are.
- This is not the Willcox Feeling Wheel and not the CNVC Feelings Inventory — those are different tools, built for different purposes, and both are worth knowing. It has not been validated as a diagnostic instrument.
- The questions and where each answer leads are editorial judgment only.
For practitioners
- Print freely. As many copies as you need, for your own clients, for so long as you maintain an active Practice.
- One license, one practitioner. A practice with several clinicians needs one each.
- Copies, not files. Printed copies may go to your clients. The original files may not go to anyone. Do not resell, share, or put them behind another paywall.
What this is not
- Medical advice, therapy, a therapy plan, or a stand-in for any of them.
- Clinical screening or diagnosis. The questions on the home page lead to an answer. That answer is a word for a feeling, nothing more.
- Distributed. Nothing leaves your device. The site remembers a few things, none of which are stored on our servers: the last feeling you opened, where you left the markers, any notes you have kept, and whether you’ve dismissed the first-time welcome banner. The first two clear on their own after a day; the welcome-banner flag is just a yes/no and stays until you clear your browser’s site data. Notes go when you close the tab and there is a Delete everything button if you want them gone sooner. If your browser blocks storage, none of it is kept and the page tells you so. Separately, your browser may keep a technical offline copy of the Site’s own pages and files so it opens without a connection — that copy holds no personal information, just the Site’s own content.
This is not a crisis service. If someone is in danger, the numbers are here.
If something here makes you feel worse rather than steadier, stop. Go to a professional you can reach — feeling worse is information, not failure.
For customers
When buying something, checkout is handled by Payhip. To deliver the files, your email and payment details are collected on their own site, under their own privacy terms — we never see your card number and the only thing that eventually reaches us is the email tied to your order.
Accessibility
We build and test this site with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we work continually to find and fix accessibility issues. In practice, that means we aim to keep the site operable by keyboard, to label its controls, to meet the standard’s color-contrast requirements, and to give each page the landmarks a screen reader relies on. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and some issues may remain. If any part of the site is hard to use with the tools you depend on, please tell us — email theforlifeseries@gmail.com and we will do our best to put it right, and we aim to respond within a few business days.
